What is the decoration like in your home?
My home is decorated in a fairly simply manner, actually. The walls are plain white, the floors are a sort of marble, and the doors are made of wood. There are quite a few framed pictures on the walls, nice, thick, floral curtains, and some very tasteful and comfortable furniture. We don’t really have many ornaments in our home, but there are some plants on the window ledge.

I’d like to have more old furniture, like I’ve seen in a lot of European homes. I love old wooden furniture and antiques, so ideally I’d like to have some older Chinese furniture and decorate my home in a more traditional style. I like history and so this would be my preferred choice of interior décor.

I am not sure really. Some people like it, others see it as a chore, really. It can be difficult to decorate a home, and also quite expensive. Deciding on what colors to combine, what furniture to buy and things like this can be a bit of a hassle. But some people are very good at it!

What’s your favorite color when you decorate your home?
My favourite colors for the home would be lighter shades. Though I like bold, dark colours, these often make a home feel small and cramped, so for the home I usually go for pastel shades that ‘open up’ the rooms and make them look more bright and spacious. Perhaps a light peach colour, or even just a plain off-white or light cream colour for the walls.

1.Talk about a family but not yours
I’d like to talk about my uncle’s family. I think the life style in this family is very different from mine because as a big family, they can do many things together. It’s very different from my family; they have three children, two boys and one girl.
This is big family is always very lively. I’m the only child, so sometimes I feel lonely. But in this family, you will always hear the laughter and everyone will be influenced by their cheerfulness. They always do some outdoor activities. For example, they would have picnic on weekends and go mountain climbing at the nearby places. They sometimes go far away places for long trips. I admire them because when I look at their pictures, I could see how happy they are.
Usually I think it’s a good thing to be the only child because I could have my parents’ full attention. However, sometimes, when I look at their family, I will feel it might be even better if I have brothers and sisters.
2.Talk about a piece of equipment
I’d like to talk about a piece of advanced equipment in my home, an air conditioner. My parents bought it in a department store when I was sixteen years old to replace the old one.
I think it is interesting to use this equipment, just like magic. Because when we use it, it can change hot air to cold air. When we are cold, we also get warm by using it. I can’t imagine what our life will be if we don’t have it.
Of course we don’t use it all the time. Because when in spring or autumn, the weather is very comfortable, it isn’t necessary to use it. If we use it all the time, it is not environmental friendly. Also, it is not good for our health if we stay in an air-conditioned room for a long time. When I feel very hot or cold outside, I will miss my air conditioner.
